Newborn Photography Trend: Neutrals | Ann Lyle Photography | Boston, MA
Keeping the newborn session very simple is the newest and most popular request for my recent sessions. The request for simple scenes and soft muted colors is 70-80% of my sessions today .
When I started my business in 2013, there could not be enough props in a newborn session. In fact, nearly every scene was themed like Harry Potter, super heroes, babies dressed like their parent’s professions, etc. Bright, colorful, and over-the-top. Still cute, but hardly ever requested now.
Today, the sessions are all about the baby and celebrating their sweet simple beauty. With the exception of a few hats and tiny bears or flowers, excessive props are rarely used. The trend for newborn sessions with a timeless look to the photos is the top request. As a newborn photographer, I welcome the style and love the look and focus on the baby.
And, if you still want a crazy scene with 10,000 props….don’t worry, I still have them! :)
Newborn Session for a Girl | Newborn Photography | Sudbury, MA
When you start to think about your newborn photography session, start to dream about how you will use the final images. What do you want to do with them? Yes, you want to capture your little one in their first days of life, but how will you preserve the images? What keepsakes do you want to invest in?
Most parents create wall decor for the nursery and an album to preserve the images. Because these are the most popular purchases, I love to create newborn sessions that look great in an album by using a pre-selected color palette throughout the session. Using similar and coordinating colors will allow you to make a beautiful and cohesive album or stunningl multi-image wall decor piece for your nursery.
